Analyze of Science School Texts for the Second Cycle of Primary Education from a Gender Approach

Abstract

The present investigation was born with the objective of analyzing, from a gender approach, the school texts of Natural Science. This, in order to prove if publishing houses have included the indications given by the Gender Equity Unit to elaborate educational material to promotes equity practices that aim for equity conditions, opportunities and rights for girls and boys in the country. The research framed within the interpretative paradigm, with a qualitative approach and a documental and descriptive design. It achieves to appreciate that exists an alignment to the gender approach in several of the indicators analyzed, but yet, there are still some elements that allow the permanence of an androcentric culture, mainly through the low presence of feminine figures and the transmission of stereotypes at the level of intellectual capacities.
