Abstract

The civic district in the central area of Santiago de Chile is an indivisible presence, that has generated many complex debates because of the various interpretations of the meaning of its conformation and a hypothesis that is not proven, a hypothesis about how the changes would spread on the vicinity of the district.

Author Biography

Alberto Gurovich Weisman

Arquitecto U. Chile. Estudios de postgrado en Geografía y en Urbanismo en la F.A.U. U. Chile, institución en la que se desempeña como investigador, proyectista (Planificación Urbana-Regional, Diseño urbano) y docente (pregrado, postítulo, posgrado), desde 1967. Profesor Invitado en Israel, U.S.A., Inglaterra y diversas universidades de América Latina. Ex Director del Departamento de Urbanismo F.A.U. U. Chile. Publicaciones en su especialidad. Actualmente participa en el Programa Doctoral Universidad Politécnica de Madrid - Universidad de Chile.
