The use of the active learning technique of model UN as an teaching strategy for the study of international public law

Abstract

This paper seeks to present the relevance of the study of International Public Law to the academic development of law students. For that purpose, research was conducted, about the curricular position of the subject of International Public Law in Brazilian universities, since 1827. After that, research on active methodologies was carried out, focusing on the advantages that they bring to legal education. Amongst some of the active learning techniques that diversify the legal education in the 21st century, it is highlighted the use of simulation as one of the most efficient to the development of legal skills among law students. The paper also highlights the use of the active learning technique of Model UNs as a successful teaching strategy to the study of International Public Law.
