Legal education to prevent family violence in universities

Abstract

Legal education provides students with tools to learn about their rights, duties and obligations. The role of universities is to provide legal guidance on social problems. There is evidence of an increase in cases of family violence during the current pandemic and it represents a need that will not go unnoticed. In Peru, the Universidad Señor de Sipán implemented and executed a project to deal with cases of domestic violence. The results were analysed from a multidisciplinary perspective. Prevention was seen as the best way to help the university community. It was concluded that the creation of the legal orientation module protects the dignity, health, physical and psychological integrity of potential victims.
