The training process for research at the postgraduate level in law ends up facing difficulties that materialize in the high degree of undergraduate students of postgraduate studies due to the impossibility of the research product as a degree requirement. This text exposes the results of research in the classroom, from the comprehensive hermeneutic paradigm, which sought to diagnose some of the difficulties encountered in the process of formulating research proposals regarding the relationship between theory and practice, in other words, between the discourse of what a research proposal is and its formulation. From these descriptions, was sought to suggest some alternatives that start from the discussion on methods and methodologies that can clarify the path to be followed by those who approach the task of generating new knowledge in the field of law.
