Parameters for the evaluation of university teaching of adversarial criminal law in Mexico

Abstract

Considering as a hypothesis that the understanding and practice of law determine its teaching, and taking into account the transcendent changes that the Mexican legal system has undergone in the matter of accusatory criminal proceedings, the present text aims to make a first panoramic approach on how Educational institutions in Mexico have faced the challenge of moving towards the training of operators with a profile consistent with the new adversarial scheme. To do this, a first exercise of quantitative contrast of the adjustments that higher-level educational institutions have implemented in their study plans, equipment, forensic links and teaching methodology is deployed to respond to the demands posed by the new legal practice, noting that most of the educational institutions considered have only made partial adjustments, which compromises the possibilities of professional efficacy of the graduates and consequently of the reform itself.
