This study analyzes whether the systematic review of scientific literature contributes to legal research. Based on the qualitative approach, the analytical-synthetic
method, the descriptive scope, and using document review, the systematic review of scientific literature was examined as an alternative method to synthesize the results of
previous legal studies. Thus, a structure is proposed for developing systematic reviews in legal research so that academics and legal professionals, norm drafters, legal field researchers, public policy formulators, and legal studies can communicate their findings during the state-of-the-art review on a legal topic with an explicit and reproducible method. It is concluded that the systematic review is highly useful for the legal community because it contributes to the standardization of legal research lines, the development and deepening of topics in the various legal disciplines, as well as the strengthening of the legal teaching and learning process.
