Legal training of the officers of the Spanish Armed Forces

Abstract

This article considers the legal training of officers of the general corps of the Spanish Armed Forces. Adequate legal training is essential both to ensure the technical-legal knowledge necessary for the fulfillment of military functions and to promote constitutional principles and values. The article shows that legal training is distributed in various subjects both in the university and in the military aspects the officers’ training. It is argued that this training guarantees the two aforementioned purposes, although with varying teaching times and contents from one Army to another.
