The sociology of science studies knowledge as a social and institutional activity, influenced by historical, political and social factors. If we understand science as a subsystem, it is sustained by symbolically generalized means of communication, such as journals or congresses, which convey knowledge, favoring its understanding in the social system. The study aims to unravel structural and semantic bibliometric aspects after a decade of the Revista Pedagogía Universitaria y Didáctica del Derecho (University Pedagogy and Didactics of Law Journal).
Methodologically, scientific productivity is analyzed at bibliometric level, through a mixed approach, non-experimental, longitudinal and descriptive design. Ten years of publication (2014-2023) equivalent to 196 documents were studied. Descriptive statistics were applied for structural variables and qualitative thematic content analysis for semantic dimensions.
The findings highlight a journal that publishes with one and two authors, with some gender parity, Chilean and Brazilian collaborations, in Spanish and with a tendency to publish more articles per year. Semantically, relevance is expressed in educational innovation that advances the recognition of a holistic, integral, ethical, socially committed, reformist training in terms of curricula, epistemically groundbreaking with respect to the normative traditionality in legal pedagogy and linked to interdisciplinary research in the new technological times.
