This study describes and proposes a reflection on graduate profiles and competencies in legal education from the perspective of conflict resolution. A predominantly quantitative methodology was used, without excluding convergence and dialogue with qualitative approaches through a hermeneutic lens. This was achieved by collecting the global graduate profiles of law programs in Colombia and contrasting them with academic trajectories in terms of conflict management, in order to identify the coherence between both observed elements. The study concludes that the global promise of legal graduates differs from the legal training pathway materialized by universities, which tend to favor a litigious profile. Therefore, it is necessary to rethink pedagogical models and curricular practices toward the development of lawyers capable of understanding the reality they inhabit and transforming the perception of conflict through the use of alternative justice and social engagement.
