Abstract

This paper aims to analyse the implementation of practical legal education in traditional universities in the Argentine context. In order to do so, I will build on a case study focused on the “Professional Practice” of the School of Law of the Universidad de Buenos Aires. This practical training is an obligatory instance that should be taken by law students during their last year of the undergraduate program, in which they attend to a free legal aid service. I concluded that, although good aspects must be highlighted, there are still many matters to deal with. By connecting these issues with the tradition of law teaching practices, in which they are inserted, I will propose some suggestions for the development of the better model.
